Scott Berg is a graduate of Saint Leo University with a Master in Social Work Advanced Clinical Practice degree and a BA in Psychology. As part of the Master’s program at Saint Leo University, Scott did his foundation and clinical internship with Cornerstone Hospice. At Cornerstone Hospice Scott worked with the bereavement team facilitating bereavement groups and providing individual counseling to widows and widowers; he also facilitated a group at Moffitt Cancer center for caregiver’s of individuals diagnosed with terminal cancer. Scott has volunteered at Cornerstone Hospice, providing respite care to caregiver’s of people suffering from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's disease. Scott is a member, in good standing, of National Association of Social Workers and while studying at Saint Leo University was the recipient of the “Student of the Year” award by the Lake/Sumter chapter of this professional organization.

Since practicing at Central Florida Counseling & Psychological Services Scott has become skilled in working with adolescents, teens, families and couples. For the past year and a half Scott has led a successful teen and adolescent therapy group.

Scott employs an evidence based approach working with individuals suffering from addiction and substance abuse problems as a certified facilitator of the Sefl Management and Recovery Training (SMART) program.

As a therapist, Scott is a practitioner of Mindfulness living and incorporates the principles of mindfulness in his practice. He is also experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes those skills and techniques when they best meet the needs of his clients. He has successfully been helping individuals address mental health, adjustment and behavioral issues including:
