Latara joins our practice bringing her experience in working with children and adults with varying mental health concerns as well as her experience in treating substance abuse disorders. Latara achieved both her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fl.
Latara has studied and worked in the field of mental health for more than a decade. She has worked as a Mental Health Therapist, a Forensic Case Manager and a Mental Health targeted Case Manager at Lifestream Behavioral Center. It was here that she developed her skills of working with various populations primarily through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions Focused Therapy. Latara has also worked extensively with seniors coping with the challenges of rehabilitation and life transitions. She has worked closely with physicians and discharge planners to identify and coordinate the appropriate support services for those in need of long term care at home and in the facility. Latara is a registered clinical social work intern, meeting the licensure requirements set by the state of Florida.
Latara has lived in Miami, Florida most of her life, only relocating to the Orlando area to attend school for her bachelor's and graduate degrees. However, she fell in love with the area and has decided to make the Lake County area her home.
