Chrisann Reid, LCSWLicensed Psychotherapist, SW8145
Ms Reid is a Licensed Psychotherapist and Clinical Social
Worker. She has an extensive background in working with
individuals, families and children who have a wide range of
emotional and behavioral problems due to trauma, post
traumatic stress, neglect or abuse. She has over 20 years of
experience in this field with the last ten being in the local
Lake and Sumter and Marion County areas. She spent several years as a Medical Social Worker in a large South Florida Hospital, assisting seniors and their families through significant life transitions and related feelings of loss, grief, depression and anxiety. In her current practice Ms. Reid works with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma, grief, life transitions and LGBT issues. She also currently works with couples regarding marriage and relationship concerns.
Ms. Reid is the past co-chairman of the local chapter of NASW, a member of ATSA and a contrubuting writer for Healthy Living Magazine. Additionally, she is a qualified
supervisor of interns working towards their licensure as a
psychotherapist in the State of Florida.
Ms Reid earned her undergraduate degree at James Madison
University in Harrisonburg, Va. with a double major in both
Psychology and Social Work. She went on to earn her
Master’s degree in Social Work at Florida International
University, in Miami, Fl. She lives locally with her husband,
has four grown children, and enjoys boating, golf, and traveling.
